DIY dress-up feather crown
by Bonnie Pockley
There’s nothing like a little DIY project when you have a free hour without children. This is something I’ve been meaning to try for a long time but be warned, it’s more fiddly than it looks. If, however, you have the vision and the patience to see it through, the final product it well worth the effort.
1. What you’ll need 2. Collected feathers 3. Choosing favourites 4. The final product 5. Little Pocahontas.
I’ll be honest. I’m pretty hopeless at following recipes and giving exact instruction of what I’ve done regarding a creative project. I sort of just work it out as I go. Vaguely speaking, I used collected feathers and stitched each into the seam of a fabric band. I used the biggest feather at the centre and smaller ones fanning out on each side. I cut the quill of each down slightly so that they would sit in a more even way and then used superglue to secure each one in place.
