Recipe: Mamma’s Sunday Super-Smoothie

by Bonnie Pockley

Around here we drink a lot of super-smoothies. In a way, they are our go-to when we’re feeling lazy but are mostly an easy and nutritious start to the day. Today we made one with some of all of our favourites – one with cacao nibs, goji berries, blueberries and spirulina. Here’s how to do it:

Mamma’s Supergreen Super-smoothie

Serves 2

1-2 scoops organic whey protein powder – I use Tonic Superfoods Whey Protein Isolate or

Sunwarrior Raw Vegan Protein (I scoop = 21g)

2 tablespoons organic goji berries – I get these from Tonic Superfoods or Loving Earth

1-2 heaped teaspoon organic spirulina powder – I use Synergy Natural %100 Organic Spirulina

1 cup frozen blueberries

2 tablespoon organic cacao nibs (unsweetened) – I use Loving Earth Organic Cacao Nibs

1 tablespoon organic sunflower kernels

Organic liquid stevia to taste – I  use Nirvana Organics Liquid Stevia Concentrate

1-2 tablespoons organic maca powder – I use Loving Earth Maca Powder

1 tray of organic green tea frozen into ice cubes – I also use violet tea, horsetail tea or chamomile tea

3-4 cups water

Blend all ingredients together in a blender under the consistency is smooth and the ice cubes have been broken up. Top with extra gogi berries and cacao nibs and optionally, a scoop of organic greek yoghurt.
